Symposium in Chicago on Investment In Jordan
Chicago, June 12 (Petra)--The Jordanian embassy
in Chicago organised in cooperation with the Chicago Council on Foreign
Relations a symposium on prospects of investment in Jordan that was attended by
many Jordanians and Americans interested in investment. Government officials
from both Jordan and the United States in addition
to representatives of the private sector from both countries spoke during the
symposium.
US Deputy Secretary of Commerce, Theodore W. Kassinger said that Jordan has become for years an attractive investment market by virtue of the economic and legislative reforms adopted by the country, noting that the presence of executive directors of major US companies in the symposium is an indicative of their commitment to invest in Jordan. The symposium was held under the patronage of a number of Jordanian and US corporations. Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Motorola, Jane Delini said that his corporation has had investments in Jordan for 20 years, indicating that Motorola has investments in a number of Jordanian companies including Fastlink, express, and Century Electronics.
Jordanian officials form the public and private sector reviewed aspects of reform that Jordan had begun and the impact of them on the Jordanian economy and investment climate in Jordan.
