Jordanian Businessmen Meet with US Companies that acquired Contracts to Rebuild Iraq
Washington, June 12(Petra)-- Within the frame of
the government's efforts to support the process of rebuilding Iraq, Deputy Prime
Minister/ Minister of Industry and Trade, Muhammad Halaiqa headed a meeting for
Jordanian businessmen and representatives from the US Foreign Ministry, The
American Chamber of Commerce in Jordan (JABA) along with a number of US
companies that acquired contracts to rebuild Iraq.
During the meeting, Halaiqa shed light on opportunities available in Jordan to
rebuild Iraq as well as possibilities of establishing Jordanian-US partnerships
in the projects of rebuilding Iraq in the light of the political and economic
stability in Jordan as well as the strong ties between the private sectors in
Jordan and Iraq.
Halaiqa pointed the advanced Jordanian legislative climate which encourages the
establishment of trade activities in Jordan.
The meeting was attended by representatives from US companies working in energy,
water, transport, electric and health projects in Iraq.
