Iraqi statistical staff to be trained in Jordan

AMMAN, June 15 (Petra) - The Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation on Monday signed an agreement with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Iraq to train Iraqi officials in charge of organizing a census in the war-torn country.

Under the agreement, three-week training courses organized by the Department of Statistics (DoS) will focus on census taking and statistical field surveys in the agriculture, industry and trade sectors. DoS will also organize field visits to introduce trainees to Jordan's experience in the sector.
