King urges government -
MPs 'new chapter'
His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday urged a "new chapter" between deputies and
the government, which, he said, should work as "one team" to meet challenges
facing Jordan. At a Royal Court meeting, King Abdullah told National
Parliamentary Action Front and New Reformists MPs that such challenges are
mainly economic and not political, saying that "judgment should be on programs
and not on persons." The King said the government as well as the National Agenda
and decentralization committees should be engaged in a dialogue with the
Parliament and explain Jordan's achievements to citizens. "I sensed that there
was shortcomings in talking [to citizens] about national programmes and
achievements." — Petra
