Jordan sends aid convoy to Gaza
AMMAN (Petra) — The Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO) on Tuesday
dispatched humanitarian assistance to the Gaza Strip. The aid convoy was sent
under the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah in order to alleviate the
suffering of Palestinians and cover the shortage in basic commodities in Gaza.
The aid convoy contained 30 trucks loaded with 450 tonnes of aid supplies, JHCO
Secretary General Abdul Salam Abbadi said, adding that other shipments of
supplies will be dispatched soon. He said the organisation is operating in
coordination with the Palestinian Red Crescent Society to distribute assistance
to people in Gaza.
