King receives US
congressmen
His Majesty King Abdullah meets with US congressmen on Sunday. The congressional
delegation is currently visiting the country as part of a tour of the region.
The King reviewed Jordanian-US relations and the future of Iraq with the
congressmen. He stressed the importance of US economic assistance to the Kingdom
in achieving its plans and development programmes, saying such assistance
enabled the country overcome difficult economic conditions that resulted from
the surrounding regional issues. Royal Court Minister Samir Rifai, Foreign
Minister Marwan Muasher and US Ambassador to Jordan Edward Gnehm were present at
the meeting at Beit Al Baraka. The delegation includes Tom Daschle (D), Joseph
Biden (D) and Graham Lindsey (R)
