AMMAN (Petra) — A workshop on human security, human rights and pluralism opened
on Tuesday in Amman. Specialists, human rights activists and academics from the
Middle East and North Africa are participating in the two-day event, which is
organised by the Regional Human Security Centre of the Jordan Institute of
Diplomacy in cooperation with a Canadian organisation. The conference aims to
exchange research, expertise and points of view on issues related to human
security, democracy and human rights in the region. It also seeks to establish a
regional network to support civil society institutions. Minister of State and
Government Spokesperson Asma Khader, several senators, deputies and ambassadors
of Arab and foreign countries attended the event.
