During a phone call with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Friday, His Majesty stressed that such operations will not bring security and stability to anyone, and only the innocent Palestinian people, who are suffering every day, will pay for that.

His Majesty the King stressed the must of ending the cycle of violence and break the cycle of action and reaction, and the return to the negotiating table is the only way to achieve peace in the region and to find a solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, confirming that he would do his utmost to urge the Palestinian and Israeli sides to revive the peace process and avoid the region further tension and instability.

In this respect, King Abdullah has directed the government today to intensify its contacts with international parties to secure the cessation of the Israeli attacks and to contain the situation and ending the tragedy of the Palestinian people.

For his part, the Palestinian president briefed His Majesty on the situation in the Gaza Strip, urging the international community to put pressure on Israel to stop its aggression against the Palestinian people.
