King says Jordan to return envoy to Iraq in near future AMMAN (JT) — His Majesty King Abdullah on Saturday said Jordan, closely coordinating with Iraq, will return its ambassador to Baghdad in the near future. King Abdullah told CNN in an interview that the Kingdom will not allow extremist groups to influence the decision, a Royal Court statement said. The King was referring to the execution of Egypt's top envoy to Iraq Ihab Sherif by an Al Qaeda group led by Abu Mussab Zarqawi. On Saturday, the Monarch telephoned Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and said the assassination of Sherif reaffirms the dire need for a collective and consolidated stand in the face of terrorism. The King also offered his condolences to the Egyptian people, including Sherif's family, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
