Lower House to convene Thursday
AMMAN (Petra) — Lower House Speaker Abdul Hadi Majali on Sunday summoned deputies to convene on Thursday for the first meeting of the extraordinary session to listen to the government's policy statement. A total of 31 draft laws, including the anti-corruption bill, ratification of the Jordanian-Syrian border demarcation and Jordan Radio and Television Law. Meanwhile, a parliamentary delegation led by Majali left for Algiers on Sunday to take part in the 46th meeting of the Arab Parliamentary Union starting today.
The two-day meeting, which brings together Arab parliamentarians, will review parliaments' contribution towards supporting women's involvement in political, economic and social affairs, the general situation in Arab countries and increasing parliaments' role in the development process.
