Cabinet endorses
anti-corruption commission draft law
AMMAN (JT), During its weekly session on Tuesday, the Cabinet endorsed the
anti-corruption commission draft law which will be presented to the Lower House
for deliberation during the extraordinary session. The Council of Ministers also
reviewed the government's policy statement and will hold a session this
afternoon to agree on its final draft, Ali Ayed, the prime minister's media
adviser, told reporters yesterday.
Prime Minister Adnan Badran will read the statement when the House convenes for the extraordinary session tomorrow. In addition, the Cabinet formed a higher ministerial committee entrusted with drafting a national programme to tackle poverty, unemployment and school dropouts in underprivileged areas.
