Activities of the
Jordanian Parliamentary Delegation in Washington
Washington, July 15(Petra)--The Jordanian parliamentary delegation, currently on
a visit to the US, met on Thursday with director of Washington office for human
rights organization/ The Middle East and north Africa Department.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed a number of issues concerning
legislations of human rights, freedoms, democracy and the parliament's role in
this domain.
Head of the Jordanian delegation, Dhaher Fawwaz, said that Jordan, under the
leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, was amongst the first countries to
respect human rights.
Fawwaz added that the Jordanian parliament approved a number of legislations
related to freedoms, democracy, and human rights. On the other hand, Fawwaz
noted to King Abdullah's role in supporting human rights not only in our region,
but also in all over the world.
