Anti-money laundering
experts to convene today
AMMAN (Petra) — Experts from Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the UAE will meet
here today for a training workshop on combating money laundering. The event is
organised by the Experts Centre for Training and Studies affiliated with the
Jordanian Economic and Social Organisation for Retired Servicemen in cooperation
with the Global Dialogue Centre. For four days, the experts will be lecturing on
investigation techniques into money laundering and terrorism funding.
Meanwhile, Minister of Justice Abed Shakhanbeh on Sunday stressed the country’s
respect of international agreements on combating drugs, money laundering and
corruption. Shakhanbeh underlined the country’s efforts in support of human
rights, highlighting the importance of exchanging expertise to upgrade the
Kingdom’s legislative system.
