National dialogue forum
to be held in Aqaba
The first national dialogue forum entitled `Jordan 2010' will be held on Aug. 3
in Aqaba under the patronage of Prime Minister Adnan Badran. It has been
established in response to King Abdullah's vision on development and social
amendment. Deputy Prime Minister Marwan Muasher will be among the attendees at
this forum, which aims to discuss amongst other subjects, the tourism sector,
cooperation between the public and private sectors, communications in Jordan and
the regional committees.
`Jordan 2010' aims to encourage the involvement of the population in the decision-making process. Public invitations will be issued so that people will be able to discuss the new aims and policies with government members as well as those in the private sector. According to Mohammad Majali, one of the organisers of `Jordan 2010, there are plans of holding similar forums in northern and central Jordan.
