More aid sent to
Palestinian people
AMMAN (Petra) — The Kingdom sent more humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian
people currently suffering acute shortages in basic food supplies. According to
Secretary General of the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation Abdul Salam
Abbadi, a convoy of 12 trucks headed Sunday to the Palestinian territories, five
of them to the West Bank and seven to the Gaza Strip, carrying 750,000 packs of
liquid baby milk. Abbadi said this is the second convoy to carry milk donated by
the Ministry of Education and the Jordan Armed Forces to the Palestinian people
at instructions issued by His Majesty King Abdullah. This was the ninth convoy
carrying emergency assistance to the Palestinian people since the beginning of
the year. Other convoys carried medical supplies, electricity generators, tents,
blankets and food supplies, Abbadi said. He added that Jordan also sent 35
ambulances to the Palestinian people.
