Qasrawi meets Musa, Zebari
SHARM El Sheikh (Petra) —Foreign Minister Farouq
Qasrawi, his Iraqi counterpart Hoshyar Zebari and Arab League Secretary General
Amr Musa held a meeting yesterday to discuss current Arab developments.
The three officials described the passing of King Fahd Ben Abdul Aziz of Saudi
Arabia as a great loss to the nation.
They also expressed confidence in the late King's brother and successor King
Abdullah Ben Abdul Aziz's ability to lead the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to a
prosperous future.
A diplomatic source said the meeting discussed the situation in Palestine and
Iraq as well as ways to fight terrorism, all of which are on the agenda of the
urgent Arab summit postponed because of the death of King Fahd.
Zebari detailed the situation in Iraq to Qasrawi and Musa, and the Iraqi need
for Arab support to achieve stability and security.
Both Qasrawi and Zebari have arrived here to take part in the consultation
meeting of the Arab foreign ministers scheduled to take place yesterday in
preparation for the summit, which was postponed.
