Bakhit, Abbas
discuss regional conflicts
AMMAN (Petra) — Prime Minister Marouf Bakhit and Palestinian President Mahmoud
Abbas discussed Tuesday the latest developments regarding the Israeli aggression
against Lebanon and the Palestinian territories. Bakhit said the discussions
were part of routine coordination between the two sides but that serious
developments in the region “necessitate intensified coordination.” Abbas said he
is currently on a tour of Arab capitals to explain the situation in Gaza and
“express our sympathy with the Lebanese people, who like the Palestinians, are
victims of a full-scale, barbaric Israeli attack.” He said the Palestinians want
an immediate cease-fire in both war zones.
