Jordan on right track
despite challenges — King
'Country will remain a model for security, stability’
AMMAN (Petra) — His Majesty King Abdullah, the
Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces, on Thursday said internal and
external challenges would not prevent Jordan from proceeding with improving the
economic situation and building the future for generations to come.
Speaking at the Royal Court to a crowd of soldiers, members of the security
agencies and former servicemen, the King said Jordan “is on the right track
despite all challenges.”
The country will remain a model for security, stability and the ability to
address the problems at hand, he said.
He expressed pride in the Armed Forces, pointing out a record of sacrifices and
heroism throughout the history of the military.
Commenting on the current regional developments, King Abdullah reiterated that
the Palestinian cause is the focal issue in all the regional conflicts, saying
that without solving it, the entire region would remain vulnerable to extremism,
wars and instability.
The King also renewed Jordan’s support for the Lebanese government and people,
stressing that the country would continue dispatching aid to ease the suffering
of the victims of the Israeli aggression.
