Iraqi oil officials to hold meeting with Jordanian businesses on Saturday
AMMAN (JT) — Senior Iraqi oil industry officials will hold a meeting with the
Jordanian private sector on Saturday to discuss opportunities of involving the
Jordanian companies in the Iraqi oil sector rebuilding processes. The head of
the Iraqi oil ministry's headquarters in Baghdad, Hanan Abdellatif, manager of
the Basra Oil Institute, Sulaiman Abdul Razaq, head of the engineering
department at the Gas Filling Company, Khalid Jassim, and Tareq Abdul Huhsen of
South Gas Company will be here among others for the meeting. The agenda of this
meeting include informing attending businesses of the present oil situation in
Iraq, discussing the industry's needs, the current direction of investment and
the services and expertise needed to improve it. The meeting is a precursor to
the Iraqi Procurement 2004 - `Meet the Buyers' event which is set to take place
in Amman on Nov. 22-24, as part of a series of high profile events bringing key
Iraqi business leaders and decision makers for face-to-face meetings with
Jordanian companies.
