Humanitarian aid sent to
Iraq
AMMAN (Petra) — The Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO) sent a
convoy of relief supplies for the Iraqi people on Sunday. JHCO Secretary General
Abdul Salam Abbadi said the aid would be distributed to several hospital and
academic institutions. The convoy consisted of 21 trucks laden with medicine,
foodstuff and an electric power generator for Al Mustansiriyah University. The
organisation will soon send over 1,000 tonnes of foodstuff to Iraq, in addition
to three ambulances donated by the Turkish government, Abbadi added.
