King underlines need to resume peace process
AMMAN (Agencies) His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday stressed the need for the resumption of the peace process on all Arab-Israeli tracks and speedy efforts towards the implementation of agreements related to the peace process.
King Abdullah who was speaking at a meeting with visiting Dutch Foreign Minister Jozias Van Aartsen said the agreements have to be implemented so as to give momentum for the attainment of the aspired comprehensive peace process.
King Abdullah expressed Jordan's appreciation of the European Union's role in supporting the peace process and its continued economic support for the countries of the region to help them achieve reasonable economic growth and higher living standards.
Van Aartsen who is on the last leg of a regional tour that has already taken him to Israel and the Palestinian territories expressed his country's continued support for efforts designed to resume the peace process. He paid tribute to King Abdullah's efforts for helping to bring the views of the different parties closer together for the achievement of the comprehensive peace.
At the meeting, which was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdul Ilah Khatib, King Abdullah reviewed Dutch-Jordanian relations which he described as very strong, noting that Jordan is keen on further bolstering these relations in different fields.
