Thirty-six new schools expected by year-end

The Ministry of Education will establish 36 new schools by the end of this year at a total cost of JD26 million, director of buildings and international programmes at the ministry, Osama Maghid, said on Monday. With these, the number of new schools built in 2006 will amount to 108, according to Maghid. He said the facilities would include a total of 1,400 classrooms with a capacity of 60 students each, and include computer labs, workshops and multipurpose halls. Maghid added that these schools would include facilities for students with special needs.
