Amman, Aug. 30 (Petra News Agency)-- During his
meeting with members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Jordan, Prime
Minister Adnan Badran said that His Majesty King Abdullah has assigned the
government with the task of accelerating and deepening the reforms needed to
bridge the gap with the developed world. Badran also pointed that the national
economy's growth rate reached 7.7% this year. '' exports have seen double digit
growth for several years now, increasing by 45% last year,'' added Badran.
'' So far this year, investments tracked by the JIB have increased by 114%.
Oddly, US investment in Jordan remained less that 2% of the total for the second
year in a row,'' noted Badran, who also stressed that we look forward to a
successful implementation of our TRAFIK Program to generate a higher level of
business interests from the USA.
