Al al Bayt University
hosts political conference
MAFRAQ (Petra) — A national conference on the future of the country got under
way at Al al Bayt University yesterday. During the two-day event, experts will
present working papers on political, economic and cultural development, according
to Mafraq Governor Khalid Abu Zeid, who inaugurated the conference. Meanwhile,
Ministry of Labour Secretary General Majed Habashneh launched a workshop on Tuesday
on mechanisms to develop social dialogue. During the event, Habashneh noted that the
government would create a socio-economic consultations council as approved by the Cabinet.
Along with 20 participants from the Palestinian labour ministry, attendees will discuss
the role of the International Labour Organisation in enhancing social dialogue and the
experience of Jordan and Palestine in this regard.
