Free zone company starts
setting up industrial estate on the borders with Iraq
AMMAN (Petra) — A company licensed to carry out economic activities in
accordance with the Free Zones Corporation Law and considered to be the first in
the Kingdom to operate as a multipurpose private free zone began setting up an
industrial estate at the Karameh area on the Jordanian-Iraqi border. The
industrial estate will serve investors and international companies eyeing the
rebuilding of the war-ravaged state. According to Hani Al Kayed, the company's
general manager, the firm seeks to build appropriate infrastructure, banking
services and housing units to be used by Arab and foreign investors to
facilitate their work. Kayed also explained that the company's location helps
save companies' and investors time and effort by providing storing and shipping
services.
