Country committed to development despite regional conflict
AMMAN (Petra) — Prime Minister Marouf Bakhit on Sunday stressed the importance of national defence and the
country’s freedom. During a meeting with students from the Royal Jordanian National Defence College, the prime
minister said the country’s basic need is to provide freedom and security for all individuals, and to work to
regain the rights of the Palestinian people. In response to students’ questions, Bakhit said the country is
committed to the drive towards development and modernisation despite difficult regional conditions. Attending
the meeting were Minister of Interior Eid Fayez, Minister of Public Sector Reform Salem Khazaaleh, Minister of
Political Development and Parliamentary Affairs Sabri Rbeihat and Government Spokesperson Nasser Judeh.
