Aid convoy arrives in
West Bank
An aid convoy of eight trucks sent by the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation
(JHCO) is expected to arrive today, five of which will continue on to the Gaza
Strip, Ahmad Qarala, president of the Jordan Representation Office of the
Palestinian Authority, said. The donations will be handed over to organisations
in charge of distributing the assistance, he added. The convoy carries 112
tonnes of medical equipment and baby food donated by the Jordan River Foundation
as well as flour, food, mattresses and baby diapers donated by Turkey, Syria and
South Africa. JHCO General Secretary Abdul Salam Abbadi said the organisation
has dispatched 14 convoys since March 21.
