King, Queen Meet
Christian Religious Men
New York, Sep. 16 (Petra) -- His Majesty King Abdullah II reiterated the
necessity of cooperation amongst followers of the three heavenly religions to
spread peace and justice in earth through working together and accepting the
other.
Kings remarks came during a meeting, accompanied by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al
Abdullah, in front of Christian religious men and opinion leaders in New York
within His Majesty's efforts to clarify the true image of Islam and confront
trials to distort its tolerant message.
During the meeting, King Abdullah paid attribute to the efforts of religion
scholars during the last years to end the misunderstanding amongst religions.
His Majesty noted that religion was used sometimes to justify extravagant
ideologies and bad deeds, considering those who do this as gone astray. King
Abdullah reiterated the necessity to re-stress the main principles which call to
tolerance, love and peace which are the principles of heavenly religions,
calling to launch an Islamic-Christian-Jew dialogue based on mutual respect. For
his part, James Forbes of The Riverside Church hailed the continued efforts of
His Majesty King Abdullah II to achieve peace and progress for all nations in
the world, considering the efforts of His Majesty the King to clarify the true
image of the tolerant and moderate Islam and to present the joint noble human
values of religions as acquiring respect and appreciation on the international
level.
