15-truck aid convoy heads to Palestinian territories

The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO) on Saturday dispatched an aid convoy to the Palestinian territories. The trucks are laden with 221 tonnes of foodstuff donated by Jordanians and other Arab countries. Nine trucks will head to the Gaza Strip and six to the West Bank, JHCO Secretary General Abdul Salam Abbadi said. The aid, which was sent in cooperation with the Armed Forces Crisis Management Centre and the Jordanian embassy in Palestine, comes in implementation of His Majesty King Abdullah’s directives. Jordan has sent 215 aid convoys to the Palestinians since the start of the Palestinian uprising in 2000.
