Royal Decree endorses
Jordanian-Iraqi cooperation agreement
AMMAN (Petra) — A Royal Decree was issued on Monday approved a Jordanian-Iraqi
agreement on cooperation in health-related fields. Under the recently signed
agreement, the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) will conduct
laboratory tests on food shipments and equipment destined for Iraq, and Baghdad
will benefit from Amman's experience in legislation governing the quality and
safety of foodstuff. The agreement also stipulates exchange of expertise in
pharmaceutical manufacturing, preventive medicine, combating contagious diseases
and first aid and emergency cases. In addition, under the deal Iraqi cancer
patient will receive treatment in Jordanian hospitals.
