Paramount Group orders
five Seeker aircraft from Seabird Aviation Jordan
AMMAN(JT) — The Paramount Group announced on Monday that it has placed orders
for five units of the Seeker SB7L-360 surveillance aircraft from Seabird
Aviation Jordan L.L.C, with delivery of the first aircraft from Jordan scheduled
for late 2004. The contract was signed by Seabird Aviation Jordan's Chairman of
the Board Alec Mackenzle and the Paramount Group Chief Executive Officer Ivor
Ichikowitz.
The order includes options for a further five units with delivery in mid-2005. “We are delighted that Paramount has enabled us to achieve penetration of the regional market so rapidly and are confident that this announcement will be the first of many similar orders. It is a great opportunity for our two companies to address a niche market with a unique product, ideally suited for the role of cost-effective aerial surveillance,” said Mackenzie.
“With the increased demand for countries to control and protect their borders and infrastructure assets, Seeker is the optional platform for this requirement where there exists today little or no credible competition. AAD 2004 is the first occasion on which our company has exhibited capability in this region and it has proved to be an excellent venue for us.”
Of the five seeker aircraft on order four will be supplied to the Ghana Air Force where they will be deployed for use within Border Patrol and Police Surveillance. The aircraft will be equipped with state of the art communications and surveillance equipment. The fifth aircraft will remain with The Paramount Group in South Africa as their demonstrator aircraft representing Seabird Aviation Jordan in the central and southern African region.
