Amman, Sep.28 (Petra)— The first cargo of Iraqi fuel comprised of eight trucks
that came within the agreement concluded between the two countries last year
arrived at the Jordanian-Iraqi boarder today.
Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Media Spokesman Maher Al Shawabekeh
told Petra that eight trucks loaded with Iraqi fuel started to unload their
cargo of the Iraqi fuel to Jordanian tanks in a designated area for this purpose
at the crossing boarder.
Moreover, Al Shawabkeh added the quantity will gradually rise from 10,000 bpd to
100,000 bpd.
The fuel comes from Kirkuk in the North of Iraq transported by Iraqi tanks to
the Jordanian-Iraqi boarders. He added that Jordan and Iraq had signed an
agreement under which Iraq has to provide Jordan with Iraqi fuel.
