Prime Minister Meets Iraqi Vice President

Amman, Sept. 30 (Petra)—Prime Minister Marouf Bakhit discussed with Iraqi Vice President Adel Abdul Mahdi bilateral relations and ways of further boosting them in various fields.

Bakhit expressed Jordan’s keenness on the security, unity and prosperity of Iraq, adding Jordan supports the political process and efforts designed to overcome the current crisis in Iraq.

Jordan, he added, stands at the same distance from all segments of the Iraqi society.

“The arrival of an Iraqi oil shipment to Jordan proves that Iraq is capable of exporting its products,” he added, noting that Jordan will not spare an effort to support Iraq in areas related to infrastructure and investments, as bilateral cooperation is a strategic goal for both countries.

The Iraqi vice president hailed Jordan supportive stance to Iraq, noting that the gradual improvement in the security and trade situation in Iraq and measure taken to develop the Iraqi economy, will contribute to the reconstruction process.
