Ezza's kidnappers extend
deadline
By Khalid Dalal
AMMAN — The family of Jordanian hostage in Iraq Hisham Ezza was trying to raise
$500,000, demanded by the kidnappers, who again extended a ransom deadline for
another 48 hours.
“We told the abductors that we collected $15,000,
but they were not satisfied and asked us to get more,” the hostage's brother,
Ahmad, told The Jordan Times. “We will not be able to collect the $500,000... no
matter what we do.”
Another brother of the hostage, Mohammad, was quoted by Agence France-Presse as
saying that the family “have set up committees comprising relatives and
acquaintances to raise the money.”
Ezza works as an accountant for a transport company based in Iraq.
