King visits Islamabad
Islamabad, Oct. 14 (Petra)--His Majesty King Abdullah II arrived on Friday in
the Pakistani capital Islamabad on the third leg of his Asian tour that took him
to Indonesia, Malaysia and Pakistan. During his several- hour visit, the King
extended condolences to Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf over the victims of
the earthquake that hit Pakistan and claimed the lives of thousands of peoples.
The two leaders discussed scopes of cooperation between the two countries, means
to push the peace process forward, the situation in Iraq, efforts being exerted
to fight terrorism and extremism, as well as other issues concerning the Islamic
world, especially the campagin that the King has led recently to clarify the
true image of Islam. Jordan sent, under directives by His Majesty King Abdullah
II, a military field hospital and two military airplanes, laden with aid to
Pakistan with a view to contribute to helping people in areas that were hit by
the earthquake.
The King had earlier held talks on Wednesday with Indonesian President Susilo
Bambang Yudhoyono and on Thursday with Malaysian King Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin on
issues related to the Islamic world, the situation in the Middle East as well as
bilateral ties and means to develop them in all domains.
