Education Ministry signs
grant agreement with US company
The Ministry of Education received a grant on Monday from the US-based ESRI
company, a world leader in designing and developing geographic information
systems technology. The company, which signed the grant agreement with Minister
of Education and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Khalid
Touqan yesterday, provided the ministry with geographic information systems
software to be used in 4,100 schools, both public and private, which apply the
ministry’s curricula, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Touqan said 1.5 million schoolchildren will benefit from the three-year
agreement, adding that the software will be downloaded on the thousands of PCs
the ministry has installed in schools.
