Jordan participates in
WTO meeting
AMMAN (Petra) — Jordan on Friday participated in the third meeting of the World
Tourism Organisation (WTO) in Paris, designed to amend the organisation's
bylaws. Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities Secretary General Sultan Abu Jaber,
who led the Kingdom's delegation, presented Jordan's stand on the amendments
suggested by France, Bulgaria and Spain, stressing that WTO membership should be
restricted to states that enjoy full sovereignty. He also suggested that
organisations, international tourism federations and institutions in the WTO
should be supporting members without the right to vote. WTO member countries
designated to amend the bylaws include Jordan, France, Spain, Bulgaria, Russia,
Cameron, Cyprus, Italy, Morocco and Tunisia.
