MoICT implements 2nd phase of project to connect government departments
AMMAN, November 17 (Petra) - The Ministry of
Information and Communications Technology (MoICT) has started connecting 12
government departments together, as part of the second phase of the Secure
Government Network Program, in addition to the six ministries already connected
during the project's first phase.
The government departments include the General Intelligence, the Passports and
Civil Status, the Income Tax and the Land and Survey Department in addition to
the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission. The project's first phase was
launched in March 2003 to serve the Prime Ministry, the ministries of planning,
finance, industry and trade and the MoICT, in addition to Greater Amman
Municipality. The initiative is meant to enhance the efficiency of the country's
human resources and upgrade government services.
