Swearing-in ceremony

His Majesty King Abdullah with Interior Ministry governors, who were recently appointed in new posts. The six governors were sworn-in before the Monarch at the Royal Court on Thursday. They are: Tafileh Governor Farouq Majali, Director of the ministry’s Civil Society Institutions Department Zeid Zreiqat, Director of the Local Community Development Department Ali Azzam, Aqaba Governor Samir Mubaideen, Ajloun Governor Abdul Fattah Maaitah and Raed Adwan, who was appointed governor at the ministry’s headquarters. Also on Thursday, King Abdullah, Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces, paid a visit to the Public Security Department where he met with its director, Lt. General Mohammad Aitan and discussed the services offered by the police to citizens. During another visit to the Civil Defence Department (CDD) headquarters yesterday, the King was acquainted with the video conferencing system the department recently introduced to facilitate communication between CDD headquarters and commanders in the field. The system is designed to enhance the ability to deal effectively with major incidents.
