King condemns
assassinating Lebanese Minister of Industry
Amman, Nov. 21 (Petra)-- His Majesty King Abdullah II strongly condemned the
heinous crime of the assassination which took place in Beirut today, and claimed
the life of the Lebanese Minister of Industry Pierre Amin Gemayel.
During the two calls telephone with Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora, and
Lebanese MP and Chairman of the Future Bloc Saad Hariri, His Majesty described
this crime the cowardly act targeting the security and stability of fraternal
Lebanon, in all denominations.
His Majesty stressed the need for the Lebanese people to unite their ranks at
this stage and not to allow the advocates of killing and destruction to divide
the texture of the Lebanese people.
During the telephone conversations, and in a cable of sympathy and condolence
sent to the Lebanese Prime Minister, the King expressed Jordan stands by Lebanon
in these difficult circumstances and that it would continue working with all
concerned parties and the peace-loving people to ensure the return of stability
to Lebanon and its people.
