Kingdom, Japan hold opening ceremony of training programme for Iraqis

The Japanese government has implemented various courses of the Third Country Training Programme which trains the people of surrounding Arab countries in cooperation with the Jordanian government.

The Third Country Training Programme for Iraqis aims at the revival and reconstruction of the country as scheduled in the cooperation agreement between Japan and Jordan. So far, the Japanese government has implemented courses of “Power Network System,” “Statistics,” “Water Resources Management,” “Cultural Heritage and Museum Management” and “Information Technology.” “Water Supply and Sewage,” the second course in the area of water resources, is carried out in cooperation with the Water Authority of Jordan.

Japan has announced its intention to extend $1.5 billion as a grant aid in 2004 and $3.5 billion as a loan aid from 2005 to 2007 for Iraq.
