Mulki meets Assad,
Sharaa
DAMASCUS, December 3 (Petra) - Foreign Minister Hani Mulki on Thursday held
talks here with Syrian President Bashar Assad on the latest regional
developments, peace process and bilateral ties.
Mulki, who also met his Syrian counterpart Farouk Sharaa, said his talks covered
means to revive the peace process in a way that guarantees a comprehensive and
just solution, based on the roadmap and the Arab initiative.
The two sides also discussed Syria's peace offer to Israel.
On the Palestinian vote, Mulki and the Syrian leaders said Israel should support
the election.
Meanwhile, Jordan and Syria agreed that all Iraqis should take part in the polls
to help restore security and stability in the violence-hit country.
On bilateral relations, Mulki said both countries stressed the importance of
boosting cooperation in all fields through the meetings of the Jordanian-Syrian
committee, which is scheduled to convene after two months in Amman.
