Abbas to hold talks with
Mulki
AMMAN, December 20 (Agencies) - Palestine Liberation Organization chief Mahmoud
Abbas and Prime Minister Ahmed Qureia arrived here on Sunday to brief Jordanian
officials on their Gulf tour.
Abbas and Qureia are expected to hold talks with Foreign Minister Hani Mulki.
The Palestinian officials have been visiting Arab Gulf nations this past week
for talks on preparations for the January 9 election for a successor to Yasser
Arafat as president of the Palestinian Authority, Agence France-Presse reported.
A favorite to win the poll, Abbas visited Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Oman,
following tours of Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon in the build-up to the
election.
