King, Queen Start Japan Visit

Amman, Dec.20(Petra)—Their Majesties King Abdullah and Queen Rania left Amman on Wednesday morning heading to Japan in an official visit during which they will meet with the Japanese Emperor and the Empress.

During the three days visit, the King will meet with Japanese prime minister and foreign minister on bilateral relations and means of further enhancing them as well as the efforts exerted to resume the peace process and bringing back security and stability to Iraq.

The King will also address political and economic representatives at the Japanese center for International Affairs on the distinguished Jordanian-Japanese relations and the challenges in the Middle East.

Economic cooperation and means of its activation will form a large part of the King’s talks with Japanese officials and businessmen.

The King’s talks will also focus on the Jordanian efforts to achieve monitory and financial stability and the increase of foreign investment especially that Japan is one of the top countries in providing technical and financial aid to Jordan.

Their Majesties are accompanied by Speaker of the Lower House Abdul Hadi Al Majali, Director of His Majesty’s office Bassem Awadallah, His Majesty’s private Advisor Farouq Qasrawi as well as ministers of finance, foreign affairs and planning.

His Royal Highness Prince Faisal Ben Al Hussein was sworn in as regent.
