King receives Christian clergymen
His Majesty King Abdullah with a delegation representing the Council of the Heads of Churches in Jordan
and Palestine on Saturday. The Monarch wished the clergymen on the occasion of Christmas, affirming that
this occasion embodies the values of love, tolerance and peace. He said the Kingdom, which is a model of
coexistence between Muslims and Christians, is keen to enhance brotherhood between members of the two religions
in order to achieve prosperity and development. The delegates expressed their appreciation of the King's efforts
towards establishing stability and a just and comprehensive peace in the region. Also attending the meeting were
Royal Court Minister Samir Rifai, several of the King's advisers and members of the Jordanian Interfaith Coexistence
Research. Meanwhile, several in-kind donations were distributed on Saturday to several Christian charity societies;
a gesture that came in response to the King's directives on the occasion of Christmas
