Jordan to host Agadir Agreement's technical bureau

CAIRO (Petra) — Member countries of the Agadir Agreement on Thursday selected Jordan to host a technical bureau that attends to the implementation of the four-country agreement. The agreement was reached here during a meeting between Foreign Minister Abdul Ilah Khatib and his counterparts from Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the extraordinary session of Arab foreign ministers that concluded at the Arab League headquarters the same day. In the Agadir Declaration in 2001, the four countries expressed their intention to set up a free trade area among themselves, and the formal agreement was signed in February this year.
