Welcome Note from the
Ambassador
We welcome you to the website of the Embassy of the Hashemite Kingdom of
Jordan in Washington, DC. We hope to provide you with an overview of
Jordan's vision, its endeavors in the United States and its partaking in
the international arena.
As Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania believe, Jordan's
message is about a promising future for all generations, especially the
youth and those who are "pro-change, pro-reform, and
pro-technology". In the words of King Abdullah, "the future
holds the promise and the promise is the future." Our mission here in
Washington is to get this message of hope and of the future to all
Americans and all our visitors from different parts of the world.
We hope this website offers you a window of opportunity to know Jordan and
visit its treasures and learn more about its history, politics and
culture. We also wish to inform you of Jordan's activities and its
political and economic relations with the United States. Through
cooperation, dialogue, and the exchange of ideas, Jordan and the United
States have maintained a solid friendship based on tolerance and
understanding. Today, Jordan's partnership with United States particularly
the Free Trade Agreement, is part of the global trend that opens our
borders to each other in the pursuit of economic and social advancement as
well as comfort and stability for each and every individual. In the Middle
East, Jordan marches the path of reform and change to achieve a lasting
peace through which our country will thrive and our people will prosper.
Lastly, the Embassy of Jordan website also interacts with the Jordanian
community in the United States through the Jordan intranets website (www.jordanians.us).
The Jordan intranets aims to create a virtual community of Jordanians
residing in the United States to build a forum for friendship, cooperation
and the exchange of new ideas and experiences.
