Prior to his current post, Samer Naber was the director of the Legal department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Amman, Jordan (2001-2004). He also served his first post at the Permanent Mission of Jordan to the United Nations in New York (1997-2001) where he was designated to follow up the Iraq and Middle East issues among others in the Security Council as well as Representative to the Third Committee of the United Nations General Assembly (Social and Humanitarian) and Sixth (Legal)  on specific agenda items.

Mr. Naber worked in the office of the Foreign Minister as an attaché at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jordan prior to his post in New York (1995-1997)

Mr. Naber holds a Bachelor degree of Arts in Political Science and Economics from the University of Jordan in Amman, Jordan (1992). He completed his Masters of Arts (MA) in International Law from the University of Hull in the United Kingdom (1994) with special focus on the United Nations Charter, the use of force, and economic sanctions.
