ABOUT WAE
WAE has established four programs to
facilitate international understanding:
1. Ambassador Series
2. Cultural Immersion Days
3. International Education
4. Sustainable Development
VISION
WAE is committed to developing the vital role of the arts in building bridges of
international understanding. As a universal language, the arts create unique
opportunities for cross-cultural communication, interaction and learning.
By providing educational experiences with world
artists in schools, colleges, and communities, WAE seeks to foster an
appreciation and support for the rich diversity and cultural commonalities of
the world's citizens and, thereby, foster mutual respect among all people.
WAE’S HISTORY
WAE incorporated in 2002 to build upon the collective vision of charter board
members that the arts are a powerful tool for bringing people together and
improving communication and understanding. Their goal was to provide more
opportunities for this kind of cultural exchange at the grass-roots level. Early
activities that formed the basis for WAE created opportunities and experiences
for all ages to see through other's eyes, hear through other's ears, and walk in
other's shoes in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Bolivia, Mexico, Central America,
the Caribbean, and the U.S. WAE is currently developing an "Ambassadors’ Series"
featuring performers from around the world who will appear in concert in
communities and at schools and colleges throughout the mid-Atlantic region.
World Artists Experiences, based in Arnold, is
a nonprofit arts organization formed in 2002 with a mission to use the arts as a
bridge to better understanding among the world's people. |
