November 22, 2004 Arab Expatriate Day The Arab League representative office in Washington, DC recently marked November 22 as Arab Expat Day. In celebration of this day, the Embassy of Jordan hosted a reception for the Jordanian community featuring the Jordanian-American oud player Shawkat Al Sayyad. Members of the Jordanian community in the DC metropolitan area attended the reception in which Ambassador Karim Kawar welcomed the crowd and gave brief remarks about the state of affairs in Jordan on the political, economic, and cultural fronts.
